Mike Funyak

Physical Therapist

Mike, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Upon graduation, he moved to Michigan and became a dual, Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in both Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapy, while working with both the Michigan Hawks Soccer Club and USA Hockey National Team Development Program. He then transitioned into working in professional hockey as the team physical therapist for the Syracuse Crunch, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning, from 2021-2024. Both Mike and his wife, Brooke, decided to move back to Michigan, and with several of his former athletes utilizing Ethos as their base for off-season training, Mike decided to join the Ethos family to continue his passion: caring for active individuals and helping them reach their highest performance level possible. Mike takes a rehabilitation approach grounded in the highest levels of evidence, with emphasis on a model that includes advanced manual therapy and progressive strengthening and conditioning to allow his patients to return to the activities they love quicker and reduce their risk of further injury.

Mike lives in Superior Township with his wife Brooke and their two cats, Blue and Chopper. Mike and Brooke enjoy travelling, spending time with family/friends, and tackling trivia whenever the chance arises. Mike enjoys staying active whenever possible, as he continues playing hockey, soccer, golf, and tennis/pickleball, in addition to running, hiking, and lifting.
